Trump Slams Comey Over New Book: He Is a 'LEAKER & LIAR'

President Donald Trump on Friday slammed former FBI director James Comey as he gears up for his book tour next week, saying the 'LEAKER & LIAR' Comey should be prosecuted for leaking classified information.

While Comey's book, A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership, isn't scheduled to be released until next Tuesday, multiple media outlets have already obtained a copy of the book and have reported on various excerpts, prompting Trump to push back against his claims.

ABC's "Good Morning America" on Friday aired a portion of Comey's interview with co-host George Stephanopoulos, which will air in full on Sunday. Comey said he believes it is truly "possible" that the notorious "pee tape" involving Trump and Russian prostitutes actually exists. It is not clear whether Trump was watching the interview or had been reading all the reports, but he responded minutes after the Comey interview aired.

"James Comey is a proven LEAKER & LIAR. Virtually everyone in Washington thought he should be fired for the terrible job he did-until he was, in fact, fired. He leaked CLASSIFIED information, for which he should be prosecuted. He lied to Congress under OATH," Trump tweeted.

"He is a weak and.........untruthful slime ball who was, as time has proven, a terrible Director of the FBI. His handling of the Crooked Hillary Clinton case, and the events surrounding it, will go down as one of the worst "botch jobs" of history. It was my great honor to fire James Comey!" Trump tweeted.

Comey's book is expected, based on the reports, to be a blistering critique of the president and his administration.

"This president is unethical, and untethered to truth and institutional values," Comey wrote in his book. "The silent circle of assent. The boss in complete control. The loyalty oaths. The us-versus-them worldview. The lying about all things, large and small, in service to some code of loyalty that put the organization above morality and above the truth."
