President Donald Trump tweeted late-night host Samantha Bee should be fired on Friday for her vulgar remark about Trump's daughter Ivanka, calling the situation "a total double standard."

"Why aren’t they firing no talent Samantha Bee for the horrible language used on her low ratings show?" Trump tweeted. "A total double standard but that’s O.K., we are Winning, and will be doing so for a long time to come!"

Bee, who hosts "Full Frontal" on TBS, set off a firestorm after calling Ivanka Trump a "feckless c--t" during a segment blistering the White House's illegal immigration policy.

Following strong media criticism and a blistering remark from the White House calling her "vile and vicious," Bee apologized in a statement Thursday, saying, "I would like to sincerely apologize to Ivanka Trump and to my viewers for using an expletive on my show to describe her last night. It was inappropriate and inexcusable. I crossed a line, and I deeply regret it.

TBS added in a statement Bee had taken the right action and expressed regret over the segment's airing.

State Farm and Autotrader pulled ads from "Full Frontal" over the controversy.

While White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders addressed Bee's slur on Thursday in a strong statement to the Washington Free Beacon and other outlets, she didn't appear to call for outright cancellation.

"The language used by Samantha Bee last night is vile and vicious," Sanders said. "The collective silence by the left and its media allies is appalling. Her disgusting comments and show are not fit for broadcast, and executives at Time Warner and TBS must demonstrate that such explicit profanity about female members of this administration will not be condoned on its network."
