Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D., Tx.) were both recently spotted wearing Pantone’s 2013 color of the year.
Afghan President Karzai met on Friday with President Obama at the White House to discuss the future presence of United States troops in Afghanistan. Karzai was adorned in an emerald Eastern-inspired pattern scarf from the president's "Classic Afghan Winter" collection.
Rep. Jackson Lee recently wore the same look while addressing Congress on the payroll tax cut extension.
The Texas Congresswoman chose the emerald graphic print scarf to accessorize a vibrant green blazer.
A Free Beacon style analysis concludes that Karzai’s polished look is the winner.
It is unclear if Jackson Lee and Karzai have met to exchange fashion tips.
Fortunately the fashion icons do not appear to have crossed paths during Karzai's Washington visit. The embarrassment could have weakened already-sensitive US-Afghan relations.
