The Visible Foot Presidency

In Tuesday’s New York Times, Peter Baker likens President Barack Obama to former President Dwight D. Eisenhower and his "hidden hand" approach to governing. Baker’s argument is weak—at best.

In addition to serving as president for eight years of peace and prosperity, Eisenhower’s achievements include conquering north Africa and western Europe as the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in World War II, presiding as president of Columbia University, and being courted by both the Republican and Democratic parties to run on their ticket for president, and ending the Korean War.

Obama’s accomplishments hardly stack up. His feet, on the other hand, do.

The following photos suggest Obama subscribes not so much to a "hidden hand" leadership style, but a "visible foot" one.
