Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) relentlessly mocked GOP frontrunner Donald Trump at a Texas rally Friday, shredding his poor spelling in tweets, his Thursday debate performance, his age and his hiring of illegal immigrants in a humorous speech.
Rubio read out Trump's tweets to the delight of his supporters that contained multiple spelling mistakes, such as one calling Rubio a "chocker" and another one referring to him as a "leightweight." In another, Trump talked about it being an "honer" to be considered the winner of the debate by online polls.
Rubio pulled out his phone and started reading.
"Let's read some," Rubio said. "You'll have fun. 'Lightweight Marco Rubio was working hard last night ... The problem is he is a chocker, and once a chocker, always a choker.' I guess that's what he meant to say."
Rubio relayed that Trump was having a "meltdown" at the debate and had "one of those sweat moustaches."
"Then, he asked for a full-length mirror ... Maybe to make sure his pants weren't wet," Rubio said.
Rubio then poked fun at Trump's spelling of "lightweight," saying, "He got that wrong." After reading out another where Trump called him a "little boy," Rubio took a dig at Trump's age.
"It's not that I look like a little boy," Rubio said. "I wouldn't even be the youngest president, but he would be the oldest president ever elected, and it's like an eight-year term, so you start to worry."
Rubio suggested that perhaps a foreign worker wrote the tweets, a shot at Trump's hiring practices.
Rubio, who had been criticized for not attacking Trump, called him a "con artist" in several morning news show appearances, and he repeated it Friday.
"We unmasked him last night," Rubio said. "Friends do not let friends vote for con artists."
Rubio ripped Trump's casino bankruptcies and listed several other stances of Trump he felt were anathema to the conservative movement, including his defense of Planned Parenthood at Thursday's debate.
"He did it better than Harry Reid does it," Rubio said. "This is what's trying to take over the conservative movement. It is time to open our eyes and see what's happening here."
Rubio even went after Trump's tough-guy persona, noting that Trump said he wanted to punch a protester in the face the other day.
"Donald Trump has never punched anyone in the face," Rubio said, as the crowd laughed. "Donald Trump was the first guy that begged for Secret Service protection."

When the extended clip of Rubio that aired on CNN was over, it cut back to the studio, where host John Berman said, "Oh. My. God."
