Ron Fournier: Obama Admin Running a ‘Propaganda Outfit’

'They are running a government-sponsored media organization'

December 4, 2013

National Journal's Ron Fournier appeared on Laura Ingraham’s radio show Wednesday morning to discuss the national media blitz the Obama administration is putting on for Obamacare.

Fournier referred to his piece ‘Din of Spin," published Monday, that reported how difficult it is for the Obama administration to "sell" Americans on the new health care exchange, as it is riddled with glitches and sky high premiums.

He added that "it could be the nail in the coffin for Obamacare." The administration needs to sell the health exchange to Americans to promote it, because Americans are currently not in favor of it, given the disastrous rollout. Fournier concluded that the administration is running a ‘propaganda outfit.’

Full exchange below:

RON FOURNIER: I wrote a piece yesterday, it was called the ‘Din of Spin’ that showed how hard it’s going to be for them to sell Obamacare, which they have to. They have to convince us, especially young healthy adults, by the way I’m going to have a story out later on today, and you’ll see how much trouble he is having with young voters.

LAURA INGRAHAM: That’s the demographic number, yup.

FOURNIER: It could be the nail in the coffin for Obamacare, they have to sell it but they can’t over sell it. They have a hard time not spinning. Last week I did a column that just focused on what they do with photos, that shows that this is a propaganda outfit, that they do put out government sponsored propaganda. They are running a government-sponsored media organization.
