Pope Catholic, NYT Reveals

Pope Benedict XVI believes in Catholicism, the New York Times reported Monday morning in the wake of his surprise resignation.

The revelation is buried in the 19th paragraph of the paper of record's debriefing on the resignation.

"When he took office, Pope Benedict’s well-known stands included the assertion that Catholicism is ‘true' and other religions are ‘deficient,'" the Times notes, "that the modern, secular world, especially in Europe, is spiritually weak; and that Catholicism is in competition with Islam."

In other news, the Times reported Sunday evening that college students are liberal.
