Rep. Paul Ryan (R., Wis.) officially endorsed Republican Elise Stefanik for the upcoming House race in 2014 to replace retiring Rep. Bill Owens (D., N.Y.).
According to Roll Call:
“My friend Elise Stefanik is running for Congress to fight for hardworking families in upstate New York. She’s got the values and the work ethic to get the job done,” Ryan said in a Wednesday release. “She’s part of a new generation of leaders who will bring fresh ideas to Washington, and she has my full support.”
Stefanik served as an aide in the George W. Bush administration. She also directed Ryan’s vice presidential debate prep in 2012.
Stefanik will run for New York’s 21st Congressional District, which was recently declared a “Tossup” race by the Rothenberg Political Report/Roll Call.
