Paglia: Hillary Clinton Is 'Utterly Corrupt,' 'Incompetent,' 'Soulless'

April 18, 2016

Feminist Camille Paglia unloaded on Hillary Clinton during an interview with Spiked last week, calling her incompetent, corrupt and soulless.

Asked by Ella Whelan if she had to choose between Clinton and Donald Trump in a general election, Paglia quickly said she would simply not vote for either candidate, adding she would either write in Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) or the Green Party's Jill Stein. The clip was flagged by The Federalist.

"I feel Hillary Clinton is utterly corrupt," she said. "Her current positions on the campaign trail have been just co-opted from what Bernie Sanders was saying, because her poll testing told her that that's where the party was. I think she's absolutely soulless. I think she's incompetent."

Sanders remarked Monday morning that he had moved Clinton to the left on numerous issues. Paglia made the comment upon Clinton hitting a 56 percent unfavorability mark with the American people, with only 32 percent viewing her favorably.

Paglia said she felt Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) were the two most qualified women for the presidency, but they had unfortunately never put themselves forward to run.

If Clinton withdrew, Paglia said, Vice President Joe Biden might have run instead, and she felt Biden could beat any Republican opponent in the election.

"I would vote for Biden, even though he's kind of dim," she said. "He's a dim bulb, shall we say, but he's a decent guy and kind of a mensch ... People like him, and he's experienced. He knows the world. He has international connections."

Paglia said she loved Sanders, but he would face a steep learning curve upon entering the White House.

In the interview, Paglia also ripped Lena Dunham as "the symbol of neuroticism which masquerades as feminism," calling her a "big pile of pudding."
