Rep. Tim Ryan (D., Ohio) was attending an August wedding in Lexington, Va., when he was arrested for public intoxication, according to the Washington Post.

The case was dismissed Tuesday by a court in Rockbridge County, Va. Ryan spokesman Pat Lowry confirmed the arrest and dismissal.

The arrest occurred Aug. 25. Ryan was released on his own recognizance and later pleaded not guilty. …

The congressman himself was not at today’s hearing because the House is in session, Lowry said.

Ryan was "pretty seriously" considering running for governor of Ohio in 2014, Cleveland.com reported earlier this year.
