Obama to fundraise, skip AIDS conference

President Obama is apparently too busy fundraising for his re-election campaign to attend the 19th International AIDS Conference.

According to a tweet from Politico reporter Byron Tau:

The 2012 International AIDS conference will be held July 22-27 in Washington D.C., the city in which President Obama currently resides.

However, Obama will attend three re-election campaign fundraisers in the San Francisco Bay area July 23, while the AIDS conference is occurring. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Obama is making "a beeline for the seemingly bottomless pockets of wealthy Bay Area Democrats July 23 for a trio of East Bay fundraisers":

Obama’s fundraising trifecta next Monday (July 23) includes one that evening at Oakland’s lovely Fox Theater where the cheapest ticket is $100. That will put you waaaay in the balcony — and tickets are billed as extremely limited.
