NBC Reporter Falsely Claims Trump Not Briefed on Addendum to Intel Report

BY:

MSNBC correspondent Cynthia McFadden falsely claimed on Wednesday that Donald Trump was not briefed by U.S. officials on an unsubstantiated report of Russia possessing information that would be embarrassing to the president-elect.

Other news agencies have reported that Trump was briefed on the material.

"What we know is that a senior U.S. intelligence official who was involved in the preparation for the meeting tells NBC that the president-elect was not briefed on this so-called two-page addendum of these allegations against him," McFadden told host Brian Williams.

McFadden said the information was made available to the officials who briefed Trump, but they did not tell him about it.

The alleged Russian information reportedly said Trump had worked with Moscow to hack Democratic Party computer systems and that he had engaged in certain strange sexual practices.
