Nanny State Nixes D.C. Nanny Service

Capital-area child care services announces closure due to Obamacare

Washington-area child care service "Mommy Relief" told its clients in an email today that it would cease business Dec. 22 because of provisions of the Affordable Care Act:

By way of explanation, the business model that we have been using for the past several years will not permit us to continue under the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). It did not make financial or economic sense to keep investing  in the business in its present form only to learn that it would not succeed under the new health insurance requirements.

The email added that the operations of "Mommy Relief" would transfer to another business, "Metro Parent Relief."
