MSNBC Anchor Tells Pence Her Republican Mom Isn’t Voting for Trump

October 10, 2016

MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle told Republican governor and vice presidential candidate Mike Pence that her mother was not going to be voting for Donald Trump during an interview on Monday.

"My mom is a lifetime Republican and she is a Catholic, but before her party, she puts being treated as an equal and with respect, and what she believes in before being a Republican," Ruhle said. "When I saw her on Saturday, she said, ‘He’s gone too far; I can’t vote for this man; he doesn’t respect you, Stephanie, and never will.’"

Ruhle asked Pence what he would say to the suburban Republican women who felt the same way.

"What I would tell your mom or anybody else is that there are two human beings running in this election," Pence said. "And nobody is perfect."

Pence went on to say that if the American people want more of the same failed domestic and foreign policies, then they should vote for Hillary Clinton. But if they wanted change and to get the economy moving again, Pence said, then the Republican ticket is the one they should vote for.

On Friday evening, a decade-old video surfaced of Trump and Access Hollywood host Billie Bush on a hot mic talking about sexually assaulting a married woman. Republican lawmakers in droves began to withdraw their support for Trump after the public backlash for the comments.

Trump half-heartedly apologized for the comments but remained firm that he would not drop out of the race. Pence also said that he would remain on the ticket until the end of the election.
