Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens (R.) arrived at the JQH Arena in an unusual fashion Saturday, putting his Navy SEAL training to use as he rappelled in from the ceiling.

The Professional Bull Riders PFI Western Invitational took place in the JQH Arena in Springfield, Mo., where Greitens received a special introduction to loud cheering.

The governor rappelled down from the rafters next to a large American flag as the announcer mentioned Greitens' military service.

"Please turn your attention back to the sky and welcome a very special guest joining us tonight," the announcer said. "He himself a former Navy SEAL with four tours of duty around the world under his belt, a recipient of the Bronze Star and a recipient of the Purple Heart, truly a military hero. Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce you to your governor of the great state of Missouri, please welcome Gov. Eric Greitens!"

Greitens has put his SEAL training to use before. In April, the former special operator participated in a SWAT Team challenge where he ran a muddy obstacle course in honor of Deputy Chris Parsons. Parsons was an officer killed while on duty in 2012 as a member of the Missouri's Washington County Sheriff's Department.
