Matthews: Gun Rights Advocates Aren’t ‘Normal People’

'Normal people have other interests--like, their spouses, their lives, their children, and even their generalized politics isn't driven by one issue'

Chris Matthews argued Tuesday that gun rights advocates are not like “normal people” who are interested in “their spouses, their lives, their children”:

MATTHEWS: The people on the far-right, on the NRA front, never lose their passion. They think about it every day of their lives. They go to bed at night, they put on their heads on the pillow, afraid somebody’s going to take that gun away from them. Normal people have other interests–like, their spouses, their lives, their children, and even their generalized politics isn’t driven by one issue.
