Liberal Radio Host Accuses Trump of Working for Russia, Putin

June 11, 2018

Liberal radio host Mark Thompson accused President Donald Trump on Monday of not just colluding with, but rather, working for Russia and its president, Vladimir Putin.

Thompson's remarks came during a conversation with MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle about Trump's meeting with the Group of Seven, or G7, on Friday and Saturday. Ruhle brought up comments from Trump's trade advisor Peter Navarro in which he blasted Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau following the G7 summit.

Thompson said despite his administration's "hostile" rhetoric about U.S. allies, Trump "feels as if he deserves a nobel price."

"There used to be a segment on "Sesame Street" called "opposite day," and I think that's what our immature president is doing," Thompson said.

The radio host criticized Trump for going to the summit and, without being prompted, declaring Russia should be readmitted to the group.

"Let's not forget, he went there and said ‘we need to let Russia back in to the G7 to make it G8,’" Thompson said.

"And no one asked him about that," Ruhle said. "No one asked him about Russia. He voluntarily brought that up."

"Stephanie, you are not colluding with MSNBC. You work for MSNBC," Thompson said. "You understand what I am saying?

"I do," Ruhle said.

"He works for Putin, and instead of looking for collusion, we need to look for a W-2," Thompson said.

After a pause, Ruhle laughed loudly.

"You think they're paying taxes in this relationship?" Ruhle said.
