Katy Tur: I’m Not a Trump Critic, I’m a Journalist

BY:

MSNBC host Katy Tur told Sen. James Inhofe (R., Okla.) on Wednesday that she considers herself a journalist, not a critic of President Donald Trump.

Tur asked Inhofe why Trump had not mentioned Russia during his speech to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night.

"Now if he'd mentioned Russia in any context at all, then you and several other people who might end up being his critics would find something about that to criticize him for," Inhofe said.

"Respectfully, senator, I don't count myself among Donald Trump's critics; I count myself as a journalist," Tur responded.

Tur's Twitter feed indicates that she has criticized Trump in the past, however.

Tur has a featured piece in Marie Clare about her covering Trump during the election as one of her pinned tweets. The title of the article is, "My Crazy Year With Trump."

She has also used the terms "anything but presidential" and "shameful" to describe the actions of Trump and his White House, respectively.
