Caitlyn Jenner Considering Run for Feinstein's Senate Seat

Olympic gold medalist and LGBTQ activist Caitlyn Jenner told New York's AM 970 on Sunday that she will consider a run for the U.S. Senate in California.

Jenner intends to make a decision about running for the seat in the next six months. If Jenner decides to run, she will be gunning for Sen. Dianne Feinstein's (D., Calif.) seat.

Jenner—who is transgendered and formerly known as Bruce—discussed a possible Senate run and plans to make the Republican Party more inclusive, the Los Angeles Times reported.

"I have considered it. I like the political side of it," Jenner said about running for office.

"I gotta find out where I can do a better job," Jenner said. "Can I do a better job from the outside, kind of working the perimeter of the political scene, being open to talk to anybody? Or are you better off from the inside? And we are in the process of determining that."

Jenner, a lifelong Republican, supported President Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign. She wants to help the Republican Party by changing its "perception."

"I hope to change the perception of the Republican Party and make it the party of equality," Jenner said.
