Hillary Clinton Cracks Joke After Woman Faints at Her Rally

November 20, 2015

Hillary Clinton cracked a joke about her sworn enemies, Republicans, after a woman fainted at one of her rallies on Friday.

Clinton stopped mid-speech to alert event staff about a woman who keeled over at her rally in Memphis, Tennessee.

"We want to make sure we take care of the lady who fainted," Clinton said. The crowd rewarded Clinton’s humanitarian display with hearty applause.

Sensing an opening, Clinton tied the fainting woman to one of her favorite obsessions: the Republican Party.

"I thought it was the talk of Republicans that might have done it," Clinton said with a waggish grin.

During the first Democratic debate, Clinton identified Republicans—along with the murderous theocratic leaders of Iran—as her greatest foes.

Clinton’s joke was greeted with laughter and applause from the crowd at the rally, an indication that Clinton’s humor and heart offensive may be succeeding.

It is as yet unclear if Clinton will work this new joke into regular rotation alongside jokes about her "grandmother glow" and the electric enthusiasm at her rallies.

Clinton, the Democratic frontrunner, is a fun-loving lass who lights up the room with her laugh.

Transcript of Clinton improv comedy routine below:

HILLARY CLINTON: I am struck by how many young people—somebody, somebody fainted over there. Can we get them some water, some help. Ok. Get somebody over there. So, let me know if you need any—is there somebody here who can help? We want to make sure we take care of the lady who fainted. I thought it was the talk of Republicans that might have done it.
