Several of Hillary Clinton’s campaign staffers got trapped in a bathroom at her campaign headquarters in Brooklyn, New York on Wednesday for almost a half-hour.

First reported by the New York Postthe group of staffers included Jennifer Palmieri, Clinton’s communications director, who posted to Twitter about the situation Wednesday morning.

"Trapped in the women’s bathroom at Brooklyn HQ. Anyone handy with a credit card door unlock?" Palmieri tweeted, attaching a photo of six campaign staffers.

A subsequent tweet from the communications director indicate that the staffers were freed about 25 minutes later. They also removed the lock on the bathroom to prevent another similar episode.

Clinton campaign spokesman Nick Merrill responded to the situation with some humor, calling it a "crap situation" in a statement to the Post.

"It was a crap situation they were in, that’s for sure. Everyone was a little flushed, but emerged safely, and we’re grateful to all those who helped with their rescue," Merrill stated.

Hillary Clinton has a history with bathrooms. In 2008 during her first presidential campaign, Clinton staffers put the traveling press corps in the bathroom during the Democratic candidate’s tour in Austin, Texas. Last year, Clinton staffers followed reporters to the bathroom at a Clinton Global Initiative conference in September. The firm handling Clinton’s private email server also ran the device out of a bathroom.

It remains unclear who helped the staffers escape from the bathroom Wednesday, but it likely was not Clinton herself. The presidential candidate does not keep an office at the Brooklyn headquarters, choosing instead to work out of a pricey midtown Manhattan office when she stops in New York.
