Sen. Orrin Hatch (R., Utah) on Wednesday responded to a tweet from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA, that called upon individuals to give their "best argument" for eating bacon.

Hatch's office responded to the tweet by posting a series of pictures of the senator eating or shopping for bacon, the Hill reported.

PETA's tweet asked for people on Twitter to "present [their] best argument for eating bacon."

Hatch's office responded to the tweet by first posting an American flag emoji.

It then posted a picture of Hatch eating a bacon burger and drinking a strawberry milkshake.

The last two pictures that Hatch's office posted included bacon emojis placed on pictures of Hatch shopping in the frozen foods section and ordering food at a burger restaurant.

In addition to the tweet that Hatch responded to, PETA posted several other anti-bacon tweets in an attempt to convince people to go vegan.
