Harrington Talks Trump's Tough Road to Unity

The Washington Free Beacon's Liz Harrington discussed the rocky road to Republican Party unity with Fox Business' Lou Dobbs Tuesday night.

Lou Dobbs spoke with Harrington and Fox News contributor Guy Benson during the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio about the "Never Trump" movement and the road to Republican Party unity.

Dobbs asked Harrington if she was surprised by the unity in the room full of delegates.

"Yes," Harrington said. "It's been a really tough road to get unity. Just yesterday, you saw kinds of chaos as the 'Never Trump' movement tried their last gamble but I mean, I really think it seems like a nice ceremony right now."

The convention had a rough start on July 18 when chaos erupted on the floor after a roll call vote regarding the convention rules was shot down. The attempted vote aimed to replace the current rules with those of unbound delegates.

With the polls between Clinton and Trump tightening, Dobbs asked Harrington if this could be a factor to the Republican Party unifying.

"Yes, I don't think there is a question here," Harrington said. "The polls are tightening because Trump has proven all the pundits wrong time and time again. Everybody said he doesn't have a chance. He is not going to make it a month and he keeps doing it. Tonight the message is about success and getting people back to work. That's what's been his appeal the entire time. People like that, people like his success."

The Republican National Convention concludes Thursday.
