Democratic Reps. Raul Grijalva (Ariz.) and Luis Gutiérrez (Ill.) were arrested Tuesday at Trump Tower in Manhattan during a sit-in.
Grijalva and Gutiérrez were among a number of lawmakers who joined the crowd sitting in front of the building, the Washington Examiner reports.
The two Democrats have expressed strong opposition to President Donald Trump's immigration policies.
Others present at the sit-in included Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D., N.Y.), who was not arrested, and New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito (D.), who was arrested.
Trump was at Trump Tower on Tuesday afternoon following his speech at the United Nations earlier in the day.
This is not the first time Gutiérrez has been arrested as part of a protest. In August, he was one of some thirty protesters arrested during a rally in favor of immigration held in front of the White House. As in New York, Gutiérrez was arrested for sitting on the sidewalk and refusing to move.
