MSNBC's Ed Schultz, upon being consoled by fellow host Rachel Maddow Monday night about the Green Bay Packers playoff loss Saturday to San Francisco, also lamented the losses this weekend by the Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks and, a week earlier, the Minnesota Vikings, in this year's NFL postseason.
"I should be starring on ‘Biggest Loser!'" he joked. "All of my teams are gone! All of them!"
He certainly gave himself several opportunities to root for the eventual Super Bowl champion, four out of the 12 that qualify for the playoffs. Alas, they have all been eliminated, including what had to be a strange twist of emotions for Schultz when his Packers eliminated his Vikings in the Wild Card round.
Meanwhile, Maddow's New England Patriots remain alive after defeating the Houston Texans 41-28 to advance to their second straight AFC championship game.
