DNC Chair Continues to Use Profane Language at His Rallies

Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez continued to use profane language as an applause line on Monday night while participating in the first stop of the DNC's "Unity Tour" in Portland, Maine.

Perez was accompanied by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) for Monday's stop where their aim was to build grassroots activism among voters in purple and red states.

"[President Donald Trump] didn't want the Affordable Care Act branded after him," Perez said. "I don't know what to call it. Trumpcare? Ryancare? I'll tell you what I'd call it. I don't care."

"Those Republican leaders and President Trump don’t give a shit about the people they were trying to hurt," Perez added while discussing Republican efforts to repeal former President Obama's landmark healthcare law.

This is not the first time that Perez has used inflammatory language during one of his rallies, as he used the same line last month during a fiery speech in Newark, New Jersey, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

"You know what embodies the program: ‘I Don't Care,' because they don't give a shit about people," Perez said after dismissing "Trumpcare" and "Ryancare" as potential titles for the bill, which was never brought up for a vote.

MSNBC's "Morning Joe" co-host Willie Geist confronted Perez earlier this month regarding his inflammatory language and asked him whether he regretted his colorful words due to their divisiveness, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

"You know, I don't," responded Perez, who then listed off some of President Trump's policy changes, saying that's what he regrets.

"What I have regrets about are all the people who are scared to death as a result of the first 60 days of chaos and carnage in this administration," Perez said. "The children who got dropped off at school and literally saw their father half a block away getting arrested by [Immigration and Customs Enforcement]."

"I got a lot of passion, and one of the reasons I ran for the job is because I want to make sure that everyone who works hard and plays by the rules can afford to live the American dream," Perez added. "And right now, this divisive administration is doing things that are unnecessary."
