'Disheartened, Divided, and in Disarray': New RNC Video Hits Democratic Party Struggles

February 22, 2017

A new video released Wednesday by the Republican National Committee highlights the current turmoil that has embroiled the Democratic Party in recent months with a Republican-controlled White House and Congress.

The video shows clips of several candidates vying to head the Democratic National Committee describing their party as in disarray and castigating the DNC itself for being poorly managed.

"Even the DNC chair candidates agree ..." the video begins before cutting to clips of seven of the candidates commiserating over the current state of the Democratic Party.

"Our party is in an unprecedented crisis," says New Hampshire Democratic chairman Ray Buckley, who dropped out of the race over the weekend. "I have no more idea than the person sitting in the back where the money is spent at the DNC or how much is raised."

"Our party has got some issues," adds Pete Buttigieg, mayor of South Bend, Ind. "In 90 years we haven't been at this low level of representation."

"We like to think of ourselves as the smart ones, but the reality is we've been outclassed," he continues.

"We have become insular and out of touch," former Fox News analyst Jehmu Greene says. "The DNC did a piss poor pathetic job."

"The culture of the DNC has been far too secretive," says Tom Perez, Barack Obama's former labor secretary.

"The officers weren't even told that we took out millions of dollars worth of loans just before the election," Buckley says in the video's final clip.

Through out the video, the captions "Democrats are disheartened," "Democrats are divided," and "Democrats in utter disarray" can be seen on screen.

"... Democrats are in total disarray," the RNC concludes, continuing from the first words that appear on screen in the video.
