Continetti: GOP Establishment Circular Firing Squad Could Go All the Way to Super Tuesday

Washington Free Beacon's editor-in-chief Matthew Continetti appeared on MSNBC's Meet the Press Daily on Tuesday and argued the GOP establishment "circular firing squad" could potentially continue all the way up to "Super Tuesday."

The discussion began after a clip showing an ad from Jeb Bush-supporting super PAC Right To Rise bashing Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.).

Relevant exchange:

CHUCK TODD: Trump and Cruz are the front-runners by a lot. Right to Rise has spent a lot of money mostly on one person who is not named Trump or Cruz, but Marco Rubio. They're still doing it.
MATTHEW CONTINETTI: Rubio trying to fundraise today with an email saying he's been the subject of $20 million of attack ads.

TODD: He's right by the way.

CONTINETTI: The interesting thing is going back to your Kasich interview, you have this lane that is all trying to place second in New Hampshire. So that's why you have this internecine warfare between the Rubio and Bush people. If they can just get into second, they can they think they have a path to the nomination. However if Kasich plays spoiler, here's the thing. I don't think either Rubio or Bush gets out. Which means this circular firing squad on the establishment side of the GOP continues at least through Super Tuesday.
