Coburn’s Report Hammers DHS Wasteful Spending

Zombie apocalypse demonstration billed taxpayers $1,000 per attendee

A new report released by Sen. Tom Coburn (R., Ok.) sheds light on the Department of Homeland Security Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI), which has taxpayers on the hook  for $7.1 billion since 2003. The UASI funds were set aside for response to terror attacks in a post-9/11 world.

Reported by ABC's Jonathan Karl, Sen. Coburn's report focuses on the UASI's investments that range from underwater robots, hovercrafts, and armored vehicles that according to the DHS "make our communities safer places to live".
