Clinton on Notion of Ivanka Being First Female President: 'We Don't Want Any More Inexperienced Trumps in the White House'

March 19, 2018

Hillary Clinton shot down the idea of Ivanka Trump being President of the United States, a rumor that was written about in Michael Wolff's Fire and Fury.

During an interview flagged by Newsweek, Clinton sat down with Dutch public broadcasting company KRO-NCRV where she was told daughter of the president Ivanka Trump wants to be the first female President of the United States.

"That’s not going to happen," Clinton said.

"No?" the interviewer responded.

"No," Clinton said, shaking her head. "No, we don’t want any more inexperienced Trumps in the White House."

Host Eva Jinek said she's learned elections can bring the unexpected.

"Well, that’s true, but you know, fool me once shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. And I think the American people have seen for themselves what happens when a reality-TV candidate wins," Clinton said.

"I really believe there’s an enormous amount of pent-up energy to take the country back from the Trump administration," Clinton said.

Clinton's comments came on the heels of widely criticized remarks she made in India where she labeled states that voted against her in 2016 as "backwards." The former secretary of state responded to that criticism over the weekend, saying she understood how her remarks may have come off as offensive to some.
