Clinton: It Is Like A Drip, Drip, Drip Out Of My Control

Responding to Chuck Todd’s assertion that every time she provides an explanation for her unorthodox use of a personal email server while secretary of state there is a new allegation, Hillary Clinton admitted Sunday morning that much of the story is now out of her control.

"Well, it is like a drip-drip-drip and that's why I said there's only so much I can control," Clinton said.

Clinton repeatedly tried to separate herself from responsibility for how the email story developed. The Democrat framed the story as a partisan attack with "conspiracy theories" much like those levied against her and her husband in the 1990s.

"I can’t predict to you what the Republicans will come up with, what kind of charges or claims they might make," Clinton said. "I have no control over that. I can only do the best I can to try to respond."

Similarly, Clinton created space between her and the process her team took to determine which of her emails were work-related and return those emails to the State Department for review and release to the general public.

"She is carefully saying that ‘I’m not an IT person. I’m not technical,’ we know that about her. ‘It was the IT people. It was the lawyers who decided which e-mails to delete, which to turn over,’" Andrea Mitchell said. "So she’s building in deniability here."

Clinton is facing renewed scrutiny because over 900 of her emails regarding Libya were discovered to not have been turned over by Clinton to the State Department. Clinton did not have an explanation for the discrepancy on Meet The Press.
