Brzezinski Slams Huckabee Sanders: 'You're Not Being a Good American'

March 16, 2018

"Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski lit into Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Friday for calling former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe a "bad actor," telling the White House press secretary she wasn't being a "good American."

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is reviewing a recommendation to fire McCabe, who has frequently fallen under the ire of President Donald Trump, after reports he was deceitful in a review by the Justice Department's Inspector General. Sanders wouldn't say Thursday if the White House felt Sessions should dismiss McCabe, who would lose his pension if fired Friday, but she said he had been a "bad actor."

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough first blasted the comments, calling McCabe a "law enforcement hero" who was key in the investigation of the Boston Marathon bombing.

"For some White House flack to say that a hero of law enforcement is a quote, 'bad actor,' is a disgrace to every man and woman that wears the uniform, a disgrace to every agent in the FBI," Scarborough said.

Scarborough said the White House was "denigrating the entire FBI."

"And Sarah Huckabee Sanders, it's an opportunity to be a good person. She'll never take it, you can tell," Brzezinski said. "Unlike Nikki Haley, who by the way—excuse me, Michael Wolff—is not sucking up to the president in any way. Listen to her on Russia. Listen to her making a stand for the right thing instead of sucking up to the president.

"Sarah Huckabee Sanders, how can you do this? How can you do this when you know it's wrong? You know it's wrong what you're saying. You know every word you're saying is wrong, and that you're not being a good person and you're not being a good American. You're not."
