Brzezinski Scolds CNN for Having Kellyanne Conway on the Air: 'It's Politics Porn' and 'Ratings Crack'

MSNBC "Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski ripped CNN on Friday for having White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on the air for interviews, calling it "politics porn" to talk to her.

In the wake of FBI Director James Comey's firing by President Trump, and the scrambled explanations for why it happened coming out of the White House, Brzezinski said Conway had been joined by Vice President Mike Pence, White House spokesman Sean Spicer, and White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders on the blacklist from their show.

She called it the "Kellyanne category," named for the White House counselor after Brzezinski banned her from appearing on the show for what she said was the spread of lies and disinformation.

"Note to CNN. Sorry, I love CNN. But you've got to stop putting Kellyanne on the air. It's politics porn," Brzezinski said. "You're just getting your little ratings crack, OK? But it's disgusting. There's nothing that she brings to the table that's honest. Your hosts know it. Your hosts look pained when they interview her because they know they're just doing politics porn."

Conway made multiple CNN appearances this week, including a viral interview with Anderson Cooper during which he rolled his eyes at her. At one point, she said the dismissal of Comey "has nothing to do with Russia."

Pence, Conway, and White House communications officials said this week that Trump fired Comey on the recommendation of the Justice Department, but then Trump himself said that he was going fire Comey "regardless" of the recommendation of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
