Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R., Ill.) crushed his Tea Party challenger in the primary for Illinois’ 16th district.
Kinzinger, an Iraq War veteran, won 78 percent of the vote compared to David Hale’s 22 percent.
Kinzinger, who served in the Air Force, has been a major advocate for an assertive U.S. foreign policy.
He supported military intervention in Syria and slammed the Obama administration for its confusing Syria policy. He also said that enemies of the United States "no longer fear us, and our allies no longer trust us."
