Actress, Possible Senate Candidate Separates from Husband


Actress Ashley Judd and husband Dario Franchitti are separating after more than 11 years of marriage.

Judd, a potential Democratic 2014 Senate candidate in Kentucky despite misgivings by her own party, and her IndyCar-racer husband made the announcement Tuesday, according to E! News:

"We have mutually decided to end our marriage," they said in a statement to People. "We'll always be family and continue to cherish our relationship based on the special love, integrity, and respect we have always enjoyed."

No word yet on whether or not they have taken steps toward divorce or legal separation.

Judd married Franchitti in his native Scotland in December 2001 after a two-year engagement. They do not have any children.
