President Donald Trump on Sunday fired back at Kim Jong Un on Twitter, sarcastically saying that he would never call the North Korea leader "short and fat" after the dictator said that Trump is an "old" person.

Trump sent out the tweet after he attended the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Vietnam.

Earlier in the day, Kim lashed out at Trump in statement and called him a "dotard," meaning very old person. Trump fired back hours later in a sarcastic tweet going after the dictator's weight and height.

"Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me "old," when I would NEVER call him "short and fat?" Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend - and maybe someday that will happen!" Trump wrote.

Trump's tweet was part of a series of tweets that included China's plan of "upping the sanctions" against North Korea and how Chinese President Xi Jinping wants to "denuclearize" the country.

He also tweeted about meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at APEC and how they had  "good discussions" on Syria and that he hopes that they can solve the North Korea crisis together.

"When will all the haters and fools out there realize that having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing. There always playing politics - bad for our country. I want to solve North Korea, Syria, Ukraine, terrorism, and Russia can greatly help!" Trump continued.
