Democratic Texas state Rep. Naomi Gonzalez was charged last night with drunk driving after she hit a bicyclist, reports the Associated Press:
The El Paso lawmaker rear-ended her BMW into a car that then struck a bicyclist around 2 a.m., Austin police spokesman Jermaine Kilgore said. Authorities believe neither had life-threatening injuries.
Gonzalez, 34, was booked into Travis County jail on charges of driving while intoxicated. Jail records indicate bond was set at $5,000 and that she had been released as of Thursday afternoon.
