Actress Sarah Jessica Parker is either confused about President Obama’s ‘evolved’ position on marriage, or has unwittingly leaked news of a profound policy change at the White House.
In a new television ad released by the Obama campaign on Monday, Parker refers to the president as "the guy who says you should be able to marry anyone you want."
Obama has yet to announce his belief in allowing siblings to marry, or allowing grown men to marry children, or a host of other more generous conceptions of the term "marriage."
He has, however, stated that "at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally, it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married." He announced his change of heart after a number of prominent political donors had threatened to withhold donations over his position on gay rights.
Parker, who was voted "Unsexiest Woman Alive" by Maxim magazine in 2007, is hosting a fundraiser for the president at her house on June 14.
