Congress to Unveil Details of Defense Bill Agreement

Leaders of the Armed Service committees in the U.S. House and Senate will unveil details of vital national security legislation at a press conference Monday afternoon.

Rep. Howard “Buck” McKeon (R., Calif.) and Sen. Carl Levin (D., Mich.), chairmen of the House and Senate Armed Services Committee, along with ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee will release the details of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2014.

The legislation represents a compromise between language passed in the House by a vote of 315-108 this June and language passed through the Senate Armed Services Committee the same month by a vote of 23-3.

A compromise has been reached between House and Senate Armed Services leaders on the National Defense Authorization Act for 51 consecutive years.
