CNN reporter Shimon Prokupecz told viewers Tuesday he would not share the description of the suspect believed to be responsible for multiple deaths in New York City.

CNN reported at least six people are dead after the driver of a Home Depot rental truck went the wrong way on the West Side Highway bike path in Manhattan, plowing into people in what appeared to be a deliberate act. It is being investigated as an act of terrorism, according to reports.

Propkupecz described the scene as the driver striking people from behind and then running into a school bus. He then reportedly exited the vehicle carrying imitation firearms and was shot by police before being arrested and taken to the hospital.

"Police know who he is," Propkupecz said. "They have a description of him. I'm not going to share that at the moment."

He added it looked like the police would try to get information out of him.

Fox News reported Tuesday that multiple police sources said the suspect exited the car yelling "Allahu Akbar," which is Arabic for "God is great."

The New York Daily News said he was a Middle Eastern man. The outlet reported he was shot in the rear end, but New York police commissioner James O'Neill said later that he was shot in the abdomen.
