British Actor Fighting ISIS Mocks Terror Group by Playing Ariana Grande in Former 'Capital'

British actor Michael Enright playing Ariana Grande's song 'Bang Bang' in Raqqa, Syria

A Kurdish news agency over the weekend posted a video of a British actor celebrating a major defeat of the Islamic State by playing the music of American pop star Ariana Grande.

Michael Enright had supporting roles in Hollywood films like Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Knight and Day, but quit acting in 2015 to join Kurdish forces fighting ISIS after watching Internet videos of the jihadist group's brutal executions.

In May, a terrorist with reported ties to ISIS attacked an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, killing 23 people and injuring dozens of others. ISIS claimed responsibility for the bombing.

Enright is from Manchester, and when U.S.-backed rebels and coalition members captured the de facto ISIS capital Raqqa, Syria last week, he celebrated by playing Grande's music.

Enright, 53, told an interviewer that because ISIS "came to my city and they tried to shut up Ariana Grande, that she be the first one to sing," before playing her song "Bang Bang" on his phone, BuzzFeed News reported.

"You didn't shut her up and you didn't shut Manchester up because she's singing 'Bang Bang,'" he said.

"You know what happened: We came and we did 'Bang Bang' and you left, you ran away," he joked.

Enright told the Times over the weekend that with the fall of ISIS's last Syrian stronghold in Raqqa, he would likely be returning home to England.
