Protests Erupt Outside Trump's Washington, D.C. Hotel

January 17, 2017

Demonstrators gathered outside Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday evening to protest the upcoming inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump.

The NTK Network captured video of the protest as people rallied outside of the hotel.

Most of the viewable signs compared Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence to fascists.

"No! Stop Trump, Pence Fascist Regime," one sign read.

Another sign called them "illegitimate fascists."

The crowd appeared to be chanting, "Night after night, hour after hour, stay in the streets; don't let them take power."

One protester addressed the crowd, according to the video. He said that the front of the Trump Hotel was already shut down, so they instead planned to storm it.

"They're going to freak out, but we're just going up the barricade," the protestor said. "We're not going over."

The rest of the comments were inaudible due to someone cheering close to the camera.

As the crowd ran, someone yelled into a microphone, "Let's shut that shit down!"

The protestors could be seen running towards the hotel, with a couple of people almost colliding with a person and a child trying to cross the street.

People banged on drums while someone said "fuck Trump" into the speaker.

They also chanted, "No trump, no KKK, no fascist USA!"
