Manchin: Strong Leadership Is Not President Obama’s ‘Style’

Sen. Joe Manchin (D., W. Va.) said President Obama refuses to engage with Congress Sunday in an interview with The State Journal.

Manchin gave a harsh critique of President Obama, stating he "doesn't not have that jump up front engaging style" to solve disagreements with Congress before it reaches a "crisis stage."

The West Virginia senator contended part of President Obama's job is to provide guidance and leadership to Congress, as opposed to his habitual disengagement.

"I'm trying to be respectful, that's not my style and I think they could be a little better [at providing leadership]" Manchin said.
