As Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius gave her opening statement before the House Energy and Commerce Committee on Wednesday, HHS’s new Obamacare website was malfunctioning.
"The system is down at the moment. We are experiencing technical difficulties and hope to have them resolved soon," the site explained to visitors who attempted to log in just after 9 a.m. "Please try again later."
Healthcare.gov, HHS’s website, has been vehemently criticized by both Republicans and Democrats for extensive technical problems during the first few weeks of the Obamacare rollout.
Sebelius appeared on the Hill on Wednesday, in part, to explain the problems with the website, which she admitted has been "a miserably frustrating experience for many Americans."
