Glitches Still Plague Alabama Obamacare Exchange Website

October 16, 2013

The heavily touted Obamacare website has been live for two weeks, but is riddled with many glitches, causing severe difficulties and inconveniences to Americans trying to enroll in the insurance program. Delays brought about by these glitches could prove to be an even more detrimental problem as the deadline to enroll in Obamacare looms just 167 days away.

Julie Hass, HR Director at the Alabama Orthopedic Clinic, has firsthand experience trying to enroll in Obamacare. She has attempted (unsuccessfully) to enroll in Obamacare every single day since its launch.

WKRG consulted Joseph Monarch from the Computer Crew to help them set up an account and probe what problems exist. Monarch answered basic questions on the website and then tried to create an account, but was not allowed to proceed further. There was a long wait and the system was unavailable. Monarch suggested that the Obamacare website is not coded correctly. Monarch explained "From what we’ve heard, they were more than likely pressured, the company that was doing it, by the government, to say we need this out here now. Even though it wasn’t completely done."

Hass was finally able to enroll, but said she hopes the glitches will be resolved soon.
