Free Market Group Launches Ad Campaign Against Ex-Im Bank

March 23, 2015

Freedom Partners, a non-profit which promotes free market ideas, launched an ad campaign against the Export-Import bank.

The group said in a press release their campaign will "include a six-figure digital ad buy, infographics and shareable content, research briefings, and coalition building."

They said they will also launch a website, www.ExImExposed.org, as "a clearinghouse for facts about the Export-Import Bank and the case for why congressional leaders should do the right thing and allow it to expire."

"The Ex-Im Bank puts billions of taxpayer dollars at risk to subsidize some of the world’s largest, most well connected companies at the expense of hardworking American taxpayers," Freedom Partners president Marc Short said in the release. "Congress should take a stand against corporate welfare and allow this bank to expire."

"The expiration of Ex-Im is a central focus of Freedom Partners and will be a key test for lawmakers who claim to want to tackle the big problems."

Critics, including many Republicans exploring a presidential campaign, have long said the Export-Import bank amounts to little more than corporate welfare. Supporters have argued the bank helps American companies compete overseas.

Freedom Partners said in the release the campaign would continue through spring and into summer.
