Talk-show host and media personality Wendy Williams fainted on-air Tuesday during a live broadcast of "The Wendy Williams Show."

Williams was dressed as the Statue of Liberty for Halloween, and about 48 minutes into the show, the TV host began slurring her words before fainting from becoming overheated, People reported.

The incident played out almost completely with Williams slurring her words, becoming wide-eyed, and stumbling backwards before falling to the floor. The show then cut to commercial break.

The host was wearing a long-sleeve green sequin dress, a green wing, and the iconic crown. She fell to the floor while her show was live on-air due to what a show representative said was overheating from her "heavy costume, makeup, and lights."

"That was not a stunt," Williams said to her audience when they returned from commercial break. "I'm overheated in my costume and I did pass out. But you know what, I'm a champ, and I'm back."

A representative of "The Wendy Williams Show" said that the host is "feeling much better" and was "able to finish the show in true Wendy spirit."

"She will be addressing the incident on tomorrow's show," the representative said.

People noted that earlier Williams complained about Halloween, saying it "is so not my holiday" and she was "doing this under duress."

"All kinds of freaks and weirdos walking around," Williams said of Halloween. "There's nothing worse than adults in costumes."
