News Anchor Does Impression of Hillary Clinton When He Thinks Camera Isn’t On

July 7, 2016

Local KWTX anchor Gordon Collier mocked Hillary Clinton’s speaking style when he did not know he was on-camera during the station’s 6 p.m. broadcast Wednesday night.

KWTX is a CBS affiliate that covers news in central Texas. Collier and his News-10 co-anchor Julie Hays introduced a report about Clinton’s speech earlier that day in Atlantic City, New Jersey, during which she attacked Donald Trump’s business practices, before the news package began and then cut them off.

"Hillary Clinton attacked Donald Trump’s record as a businessman and casino owner during a speech in Atlantic City, New Jersey, today," the CBS reporter narrating the segment said.

"Donald Trump—" Clinton said in her speech. The segment then cut off the Clinton clip and went back to Collier in the studio, where he was busy doing an impression of Clinton shouting "Donald Trump!" in a high-pitched voice.

He chuckled as Hays looked up, startled.

"There we are," Collier said, appearing to recognize he was on-air. "I don’t know what’s going on. Do you?"

Hays said nothing.

After the segment finished, a sheepish Collier said he was not sure what had happened earlier.

"We’re actually on now," Hays said.

"Yeah, we are on, for sure," Collier said.

"In case you’re wondering," Hays said.
