Despite wall-to-wall coverage of the 50th anniversary of the President John F. Kennedy's assassination, MSNBC got thumped by Fox News in the cable news ratings Friday night.
According to Mediaite,¬†Fox News' Special Report¬†was also No. 2 overall in all of cable news Friday, drawing nearly 2.2 million viewers. Only usual ratings champ¬†The O'Reilly Factor¬†had more at 2,326,000.
Special Report¬†was also the top 25-54 demographic show for the night, with 407,000. That more than doubled Bret Baier's 6 p.m. competitor, Rev. Al Sharpton (186,000) at MSNBC.
In prime time, Fox News trounced MSNBC and CNN overall Friday, averaging 1.82 million viewers to MSNBC's 558,000 and CNN's 518,000.
