Countdown to Cannibalism

November 3, 2014

The UN released a report Monday highlighting the consequences of global warming.

The organization warned of "severe, pervasive and irreversible impacts for people and ecosystems" if global warming is left "unchecked."

"Our assessment finds that the atmosphere and oceans have warmed, the amount of snow and ice has diminished, sea level has risen and the concentration of carbon dioxide has increased to a level unprecedented in at least the last 800,000 years," said IPCC Working Group I co-chair Thomas Stocker.

The report is an important reminder that world leaders have a finite amount to time to deal with the dangers of global warming. Of course, the UN isn't alone in reminding the world of the dire situation the world faces.

CNN founder Ted Turner predicted on April 1, 2008, that we have just 30 years before the last survivors of the warming apocalypse must resort to feasting upon one another in order to avoid extinction.

Turner's prediction has already begun to come true in certain corners of the globe. Pakistan had to pass legislation banning cannibalism after two brothers were caught digging up corpses and grinding them up to make curry, the Daily Mail reported. The Syrian civil war produced a "heart-eating cannibal," according to the BBC. And, of course, Florida had its own "face-eating cannibal."

Pakistan, Syria, and Florida all have warm climates.

In order to help people prepare for what is coming, the Free Beacon created the Countdown to Cannibalism clock, which will let you know exactly how much time is left until you must engage in the practice for basic sustenance.
